Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit Family/Catalog Creation

Built by designers. For designers.

Render Ready 3D BIM

For decades, manufactures have be providing designers with 2D CAD blocks for their product lines. These blocks have traditionally only been used in CAD applications for geometric data that helps to show the product within the working drawing. Although adequate for basic space planning, this has limited designers who integrate 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) into their everyday practice in creating more than just working drawing representations.

Parametric BIM models are changing the way designers utilize product information by providing more detailed information to their models, allowing them to become more efficient, accurate, useful, and cost effective, throughout a project’s lifecycle. They also help designers in the selection, communication, and specification of your products.

Why Use SLA?

Smith LaRock Architecture is a firm specializing in the Technical Facility Design Industry. We find it is critical that we are attentive to every detail of our designs, and by working entirely in 3D, we need accurate product & equipment data and models that are also in 3D. As AutoDesk Revit Certified Professionals, we take pride in using Revit 3D BIM in 100% of our projects. We believe there is no better tool to coordinate drawings, disciplines, construction, product content and specifications. When we are working on a project, we look for the products best suited for our clients needs, but may typically pick the manufacturer that has Revit BIM Models available for representing the model within our design. We need accurate models that let us design with the knowledge the inserted equipment is properly sized. This helps us excel in developing our project files, coordinate amongst the many drawings and consultants we engage, and just makes our job easier. We’d like there to be BIM models available for any products and equipment that we need to specify, so, in many cases, we have to create these models for our own use.

Our offering is simple: we will create industry standard Revit families of your products for your customers. The outcome is a BIM 3D model suitable for your specifier use, and streamlined communication of the specific attributes of your equipment & products.

The advantage of using Smith LaRock is the confidence in knowing your content will be created by architectural designers for architectural designers!
